Unsurprisingly the set is almost identical, but the format stinks - same as UK version. Razz

I prefer their version of Quizmania, it was fairly addictive while I was over there. Also fairly identical.

"Hi there, who's this?"
"Darren"
"Baron? Where are you calling from, Baron?"
"Brisbane"
"Prison?"

Dodgy quality, but here's a run down of the Australian late-night game show as of about a year ago..

As far as I know, the original episodes of The Mint (australia) were broadcast live from the Maidstone Studios, Kent, hence the set was the same.

There has been a bit of a hoo-ha though over the credit sequence as ITV Productions didn't give them permission to use it - bit obvious it's the UK version - look at the Transit's reg plate. Also KPM aren't happy as they didn't ask them for permission to use the Library Music they are using as beds, theme and underscores.

Good old Channel Nine!

Maybe they're not really Australians presenting!

Someone calls in"Hello,I'm from Britain,is that a fake accent?"
"No mate.Moving on!" Laughing

Did one half of your brain experience extreme retardation at a young age to make you spit out some of the worst comedy abortions I've ever seen?

It does sound recomposed on the Aus version and from that clip it seems they're not using the UK beds/underscores.

If it's library music anyone can use it for whatever they want regardless of country - that's how it works. As to the titles, someone had to press play on the tape so if they're letting them use the set, then why not the titles?

KPM didn't give Nine permission to use the music - and the beds are the same - I have most of them here.

Also the title sequence is copyright ITV Productions, and again, didn't give permission on Nine to use them. ITV Productions did film a seperate version, however Nine deceided not to use them as they looked 'too generic for Australian viewers'.

Still off topic:
Not that much of a new look. The graphics have changed from blue to purple. The only thing that looks silly is the green still used on "Make" and "Play" in the titles. It doesn't fit in anymore.
EDIT: ITV2 still using old titles to introduce MYP.

55 cents per call in Australia which is roughly about 20p?

Seems very low in additon to having lower call volumes than the UK.
