The generic Seven credits aren't used on Home & Away over here intrestingly - the show still ships with "standard" credits (the beach style saw a few pages back) complete with theme tune.

We also get a "7" ident at the end, whereas Seven proper don't.

What do Southern Cross do - as I know they're a week behind the mainland with several shows (certainly H&A runs one week behind there).

Same her in New Zealand the ending credits for home and away are just the standard credits. but then again I wouldnt see a point to have the Aussie H&A credits for programmes on that channel, on another channel somewhere else in the world. Smile

Two versions of the end credits are always made for shows like this: the 'international credits', ie. the standard ones used on exported copies, and seen everywhere else in the world; and the 'split-screen/ ECP-friendly' variety that Seven uses during prime-time. If H&A was repeated in Oz (through the day or on Pay-TV), I would expect the international credits to be used.

thats not an ident, thats the production ender since the network produces the show. All seven shows in primetime have dropped the network production ender.

Seeing as Southern Cross (Tasmania) isn't an affiliate of Channel Seven (it also shows Network Ten programming) I would imagine they use the international version of the end-credits as seen in the UK. That's just a hunch though; I don't know for sure.

I noticed the other day that Network Ten now have a permanent DOG in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. It's annoying but not too distracting.

Actually, Southern Cross Tasmania is a Seven affiliate. It's just that because there was no Ten affiliate or a license avalible (untill Tasmania Digital Television came), SCT had to become a Ten affiliate as well (but from what I have read, they haven't shown as much Ten shows as Seven and they show some Ten shows at odd times).

Anyway, I am sure that the network feed from Seven would have the same credits for all of Australia and SCT gets the network feed as well.

I notice digital viewers on 7 are reminded that they are, indeed, watching it on digital!

Or is 7 Digital a separate channel to main 7/Prime/GWN?

SCT are with 7 I think - certainly they use rebranded versions of 7 presentation material.

Seven just decides to remind viewers it's digital (or in the case of Seven's so-called HD (576p Enhanced Definition), there is a HD digital watermark).

I think they do. With sevens generic credits usually containing promos of shows they may not show or are not comming up 'NOW' they usually get cut and are not shown at all.

thats what happens when you cant decide which network you want to affiliate with.

Aaah, not a fan of HD then?! The only HD show over here at the moment as far as I know is Home & Away and I know the issue with that was more to do with Seven's decision to go filmic... which in my own opinion suited H&A far better - for some reason it looks really classy on a flatscreen or LCD telly now. And to be fair, the show is made very much like a film now anyway.

Quite frankly I think the picture looks far better, even on an SD broadcast (AFAIK Five only broadcast it in SD) - although people complained about the picture being "dark" - having downloaded some of the recent H&A episodes, they have a lot of sun in them though and they look really good.

I thought that during Daylight Savings Time, Tassie is in fact an hour ahead of NSW/VIC (ie. at 7pm Melbourne time it's 8pm in Tassie). Therefore, how can they be taking the network feed, unless Seven plays it out early and delays it to the 'home' states - and I doubt they'd do that for the sake of Southern Cross Tasmania, who don't actually take the full schedule.

I heard that Tasmania is in fact running shows like H&A a week behind the main Seven network, and that the reason is because they're not allowed to play these shows before Melbourne/Sydney do? That said, GWN and 7 Perth showed H&A last Thursday, when in all other states it was postponed to Friday because of extended tennis coverage. Has this 'ruling', if indeed there is one, changed?

Am I right in assuming that live sport coverage (like the tennis) actually goes out 'live' countrywide - rather than the states in other time zones getting a delayed feed? Other live shows like the finals of Idol, Big Brother, and Dancing with the Stars don't go out live except in states on a par with Melbourne time-wise? So in fact people in Perth just have to check the internet or call a friend in the Eastern States to find out the winner, long before it has been announced on-air!
