Nice LWT ident leading into the show.. not sure where it's going though.

What's Michael Underwood got to do with Jeremy Beadle? Surely it wouldve been a nice touch for Henry Kelly to do the Game For A Laugh remake?

Lol@whoever had the idea that this would be successful.

I felt the name was a bit unnecessary, as it's a title I'd expect to see on Dead Ringers or End of Part One. However, what I am seeing is something I haven't seen on ITV for a while - good proper entertainment!

I remember saying a few months ago there wonted to do a WHOLE evening Jeremy Beadle shows, which may have been better.

I dont know, there's something about these new fangled ITV light entertainment shows that is a bit too fast in pace. There were a lot of interesting guests who didnt get anywhere near enough airtime.

I was slightly reminded of 'ITV 50: Avenue of the Stars' when watching the Beadle special, although I think the point was better made tonight. The bit where Anneka went to GOSH broke things up a bit.

All in all, a good idea. The name was a little too blunt, but I think that it hit the nail on the head. The top "Beadle's About" moments was just what they needed - the objective of the programme was to reminisce on his achievements and the best bits of his career and this feature did exactly that. A great tribute to a great loss.

I think Jeremy wouldve loved the name. A good twist on an old LWT favourite.

Enjoyed it, some nice touches like the LWT ident, and I actually thought the prog title was quite clever when I first heard it, a good twist on an old brand.
My only minor problem with it - as with the whole 'An Audience with...' franchise, in fact - was that so many people in the audience could have made interesting contributions, but were just not used.
We saw glimpses of, for instance, Wilf Lunn, Sally James, Sylvester McCoy and many other interesting Beadle-linked folk who never uttered a word, and who are all too rarely seen on TV these days. Ken Campbell was good, a few more anecdotes from audience members like him would have helped it along no end, I reckon.

Any caps of the ident?

I'm thinking it could become an occasional series, where greats of light entertainment are remembered "An audience without..."

I read elsewhere that the programme didn't turn out as good as it should have. Apparently a whole Beadle Quiz segment presented by Danny Baker was recorded and then cut out because it wasn't good enough. It's failry obvious that they recorded a lot more and then cut it right down to an hour

Watching it back from video, the set is a nice touch - a recreation of the Beadles About set. All a bit poor though, they could have spent a lot more time talking and showing clips of Game for a laugh

Yes and is it not possible for ITV to do anything like this without Stephen Mulhern being involved?
