Asa, the How To Capture, Credits, and stills all don't require downloads. You could put the first two pages up in their entirity, and just have the stills up without Real Media downloads until you get them back online. TV Ark is gradually restoring things after they had similar problems, so any idea when you'll put things back onto the site please? Thanks!

if the filename for the image has spaces in it, when writing the url for it '%20' is put in place of the spaces.

As for the site, once Asa knows anything he will tell us, stop being so impatient!

Yeah, but the problem is basically the same as at TV Ark, it shouldn't be too much trouble to find somewhere else to store downloads!

As Martin explained, I use long filenames therefore to have spaces '%20' is automatically put in there - but you never see it unless you read the code so it doesn't really matter!

TV-Ark seem to be using a system where by people are allocated certain sections which are their responsibility for ensuring the downloads and site design are the same as the main TV-Ark pages. This doesn't half help the webmasters to expand their content but I prefer to keep the pages directly at the domain name, with access to all the downloads and pages!

The menu was removed from the homepage because I couldn't be bothered to re-edit it to show only pages that didn't need updating (the capture bit was valid, but I'm not sure anyone would particularly want to see the credits or updates page!) The reason the webpages have been left up there is so that search engines don't remove my listing.

I want to launch the whole site back at the same time. Now, in order to reduce the chance of the files being deleted again, I have to create a download page for each individual clip (currently around 900 files / 380mb) not including 'Sound Central' so I'm uploading files in sections and will launch the site totally at the same time.
It saves on people complaining certain sections have broken links / old design etc. etc..

It will return soon...honest Smile

Cheers, Asa

I've penned in on the calender for my website launch to be on Monday, July 2nd 2001.

I already have 80% of the content, the most tedious bit is uploading the big files onto the net with a slow connection...

Haha, nice try David! I wish that was the case but no, it doesn't - nor does it get you off paying the tv-licence!! Smile If you want to watch more than 1 Sky channel, you'll have to wait until the new 'Sky+' box comes out later this year (no doubt it'll be expensive though!)
