Argos TV

After about 23 months on air, this channel has now closed. Did anyone see it end? Was there a proper ending?

On Freeview their channel is still there (55) but just showing a MHEG5 caption. On Sky, channel 642 has gone back to JML which it was before Argos came along. The website (www.argos.co.uk/tv) mentions nothing but there is a broken live stream here if that interests you.

According to a post in that thread it was a trial. I know from working for the home retail group that they are struggling and so it seemed this was one of a few trials/ideas. The space on SKY was QVCs apparently so it may reappear. On freeview though I guess its anyones guess.

The space on Sky was JML's, it was they who they leased the slot from. 23 months is a bit of an extensive trial.

www.argos.co.uk/tv is now a 404 Not Found, and the live stream link says "Sorry, our site is temporarily closed while we make important changes to help improve your online shopping experience."

In fact, the entire Argos website is showing that message, which is worrying.

Wasn't the Argos channel running 24 hrs in the Manchester area? What's that channel showing?

That's odd. When the site went back to normal, I assumed the downtime had to do with removing the defunct TV stuff, but it's still there.

Haven't they updated the home page/overall design, or was it like that before?
