Can just imagine the fury in Middle England in the early hours of this morning!!

Caught a couple on TV this morning. Firstly, on that T4 football thing Ashley Cole announced he'd be releasing a single with his girlfriend for the World Cup.

Secondly, on Football Focus they gave us news of a new FIFA directive that anyone caught diving twice would be force to wear an armband identifying themselves and would earn a red card next time they were caught!

Though knowing FIFA, that's probably true!

While many programmes have featured April Fools over the years - apart from the Panoram Spaghetti tree thing back in the 50s, has there been any entire programmes which are an April Fool?

Anyone else remember the April Fools joke that Phillip Schofield did on Going Live many years ago.

It was a demonstration of a new device called 'Chippy'. It was a portable music player that could hold hundreds of sings without tapes or discs - it was all held on computer chips.

Strangely prophetic it turned out! Laughing

Best one I've heard of is Chris Tarrant doing his weekday breakfast show last time April Fools Day fell on a Saturday, trying to convince his listeners it was actually a Friday.

Can't think of too many TV ones at the moment. The Millennium Dome thing worked well on The Big Breakfast as it was part of a feature they did every day (Dome Watch) following the building of the Dome.

I think during the "Mutton Chops" era they had a woman with sideburns interviewed once on the show.

Deal or No Deal gone for the subtle touch I think. In the credits the banker was named as "Richard Oldman", rather than "Himself".

Lol, I do like the idea of an era of the Big Breakfast being described as the "Mutton Chop era"

More recently there was that one on GMTV, where houses were being fitted with a 3rd tap which would dispense slimming water

Coincidently, also known as the Kelly Brook era! Laughing

And also spotted on the money board before the titles: "Noel or No Noel".

Chris Evans is 40?

God forbid if he takes to the "life starts at 40" strand! Mad

Bit of a waste on TV for my liking, with Saturday Showdown going for Ray (the little man) releasing a single of the theme to Ram Ray (the game that he rams into solid objects), well at least I hope it was an April Fools.

Didn't see if the mighty truck of stuff had one, or is that an April fools of its own.... nope, still on next week!

As for previous, the Dome fire on the brekkie was great. The last classic Saturday Morning one I remember was in 2000 where on SM:tv, whilst doing the postbag dance, Dec fainted, everyone dropped down the cameras, etc and rushed in before speedily playing a cartoon (performed terribly well), whilst Live & Kicking at the time went for the news that Eastenders was going to be made into a movie!
