I did some research on how this all started some time ago....
Monday, 16th October, 1972 was when the 12.10-12.25pm slot came about and "Rainbow" ran each day until the end of that year.
From January 1973 "Rainbow" rotated each month with the following "Inigo Pipkin" (Just "Pipkins" from August 1974 when the slot was rotated each week), "Mr.Trimble", and "Hickory House". From April 1977 "Mr.Trimble" was replaced with "Stepping Stones". From January 1978 "Hickory House" was replaced with "Daisy, Daisy" until "Hickory House" made a comeback in July of that year!
I caught the tail end of Rainbow's run, also watched Puddle Lane, was a big Playdays fan, Superted, Fireman Sam, Postman Pat, Joshua Jones, Rolf's Cartoon Time / Club, and also non-kids programmes Going for Gold, Turnabout, 4 Square, Blockbusters, Win Lose or Draw and CrossWits!
was mooncat a 12:10pm slot programme then recently changed name to get up and go hosted by steve boxster and beryl reid.
Also rainbow had another programme called rainbow days..
Monday - Playbox
Tuesday - Rainbow then Rod Jane and Freddie
Wed - Our Backyard then Allsorts
Thurs - Puddle Lane then The Riddlers
Fri - Rainbow
Then at some point Monday's changed to Rosie and Jim.
Eee, them wor dairs R Jez.... some fond memories there. My favourite kids show was Knightmare, fixture of autumn Fridays. As a young kid trolls, the Corridor of Blades, goblins and miremen scared me.
These days it makes me laugh when I see it-- especially Lord "Fear"
