I always said the show was "ok" but nothing special. The music at the start is dreadful and camp but thats what its supposed to be like.

I speak as I find and Antony was ok with me, and other fans outside the studio. He even told the caller on his mobile he would ring them back so he could have photos and sign autographs with the fans. I much prefer Antony to "Sean Tully", I think he suits presenting this show much more than playing Sean in Corrie.

There's a difference? Shocked I can't see any - I thought Sean was Antony & Antony was Sean. Rolling Eyes

His show is probably the single worst show on ITV1 at the moment. Which is quite an achievement.

A quote from the show... "I'd like to say a big thanks to all you bankers watching".

Antony Cotton seems to be a toned down version of Graham Norton in his intro talk. The backing music did for the most mask his singing along with the aid of the audience (clapping along), which perhaps was deliberate to make his singing sound better. Antony does seem fairly good at interviewing though, and maybe with some adjustments the series could work. Having said that I've already switched channel after watching the intro.

He's brill at interviewing when he's got Corrie actors and his mum as guests.

By his own admittance in interviews, Sean is an exaggerated version of AC. He reckons he less confrontational than Sean, and "quieter" when going about his daily business outside work. He also reckons he isn't as camp as Sean.

I agree with that. Antony isnt anywhere near as OTT or camp as Sean is on Corrie.

I think Antony suits this show and would prefer to watch him on this than as Sean on Corrie.

I also agree he is good at interviewing - yesterday he had 2 Corrie guests, Jennie McAlpine (Fizz) and former Corrie actress Denise Welsh (Natalie). Both interviews were very good.

Two Corrie guests? How...imaginative. It's turning into a Corrie love-in.

Less confrontational? His interview in Now magazine and his interview in The Guardian would both disagree with that statement.

Well it is filmed in Manchester so its easy to get Corrie guests on the show as its filmed in the same studio site. Plus im a huge fan of Corrie so dont mind having lots of Corrie guests on the show.

Maybe he's trying to do an O'Grady i.e. being very short with interviewers, some celebs, even his own bosses etc Except then it's actually funny and not meant Rolling Eyes

Well hes obviously nice to people who are fans, however the night he was in the audience for the musical Wicked, he was a complete ego filled "don't you know who I am, darling" and the entire theatre knew he was there. Not that anyone cared much, which no doubt added to his fury of not being treated like a star.
