He has left. There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago when he announced it. He says he will be back with Granada at some point.

Incidentally, it was James Cooper's last show on Friday, as he's off to Sky Sports I believe. Trevor Green was presenting and wished him luck, asking if it was a free transfer. Trevor's actually becoming pretty fab, I groaned a bit when I saw that he'd taken over but he's really cool, and always keen to have a chat with Lucy or whoever's doing the sport.
I'm hoping that they get the guy who's started doing Saturdays on the main show soon as James' replacement, he seems good. He's filed lots of reports but I've never seen him actually do the sport in the studio. Can't remember his name.

I don't know when his last show was, for the past few weeks even a couple of months now it has only been Lucy on her own, Trevor on his own, plus he must be doing Friday's programme now or So, who only seems to appear in the daytimes now. But if you do see it at weekends or small bulletins it seems to be presented by reporters as well now.
Though I saw Friday's show and James' last Sport, shame to see him go, but Trevor was rather enthusiastic about it. But if the show is getting a revamp I wouldn't expect it until Autumn, when there isn't any confirmed presenter, with presenters seem to be in and out of the place. Plus I don't think they can revamp during the Care in the Air Appeal with Paul Crone.

I'd love to see a Calendar-type show with one presenter in the studio and one on location somewhere, it works really well. That's the problem with Granada Reports (and more so with NWT) - it's always the same, whereas Calendar is pacey and always different to watch. Also whilst I like the current look, the whole show could do with a more modern feel to it.
Presenter-wise, I think Lucy is excellent, always have and always will. It would be fab to see Bob Greaves back presenting, as all regional news shows need an old man. If they do get someone new though, it'd have to be someone from elsewhere as I don't think any of the current reporters or fill-ins are up to the job. Paul Crone would be fantastic with the lighter stuff, but with the hard news he wouldn't be much good.

In the Manchester Evening News, it is reportes that the new replacement for Tony Wilson will be Tony Morris, former BBC presenter. Tony Morris will begin the new job alongside Lucy Meacock from September 15th. It also says that the programme will recieve a major relaunch.

Oh I like him, that's quite good news then. I may even watch a bit more than I do, especially when I'm in the north west since, to be honest, I'm not hugely keen on Lucy Meacock, especially on her Late Debate programme.
But I can see this lifting the programme out of the one-presenter trap [that perhaps NWT is in]. Leaves a space for Inside Out in the north west to be filled too.

Same here! Though I have to say that picking Tony Morris was suprising, but I think that Granada has made a good choice, though I have only ever seen him on reporting, but he'll be good, lets hope they keep to a 2 presenter format permanently, not just it being on and off.
In a way it's a shame as Granada has lost a lot of it's good presenters go, most male such as....
Bob Greaves (Retired)
Andrew Brittain (Where has he got to?)
Anthony Wilson (Gone to do head some North West Government thing)
James Cooper (Gone to Sky)
Rob McGloughlin (Still at Granada, but is rarely seen)
Though I have to say it is nice to see that Trevor Green has come back to Granada and he seems to have been treated better this time, as he does more presenting now, it's nice to see more of Paul Crone, but one thing which I don't get is why Fred only does light stories and not the weather anymore? I can't remember the last time he said "And what have we got for tonight, well...."

I hope they don't change the music.
