Anthony H. Wilson dies

The death has just been announced of Anthony H. Wilson, Granada Reports frontman, music mogul and more. He was 57 and had been suffering from cancer.

RIP Tony. Shame on you NHS for refusing to fund his treatment.

57? Blimey I wasn't even aware he had cancer.

He did, and what's worse he had to fund his own treatment (relying on donations from friends and family) because his local primary care trust refused to fund it.

Maybe it's not the place to get political here but it's high time those morons at NICE rebranded themselves with a far less offensive name.

R.I.P Anthony Wilson. He was on North West TV only a month back talking to Gordon Burns about this issue of having to fund his treatment.

Great sadness to hear this news. It's absolutely disgraceful that he wasn't given NHS treatment.

Besides his well known work in the music industry he was a unique and very special figure to television viewers in the North West.

I hope Granada do a decent tribute programme.
