I wouldn't worry about it. It came from the News of the World and most of the showbiz stories they publish are complete and utter lies.

I think the NotW story was a load of b***s to be honest.

On the news yesterday, they were saying that Ant & Dec are to donate all the profits from the next series would be donated to charity.

Well they have to make up their mind, if its not just vanity, then they should have known what was going on. I mean the only other option is to call them incompetent executive producers, if its true, he went for the nicer option.

I have to go alone with you here, he has done the nice thing, aslo If AND are ther just for ideas then that fine,

"Last night, ITV bosses insisted that Ant and Dec had a deal that keeps them with the channel until 2009.

They insisted that they were committed to Saturday Night Takeaway and had a good relationship with the Geordie duo.

They denied that Ant and Dec would be walking away from the show after the next series".

Why not say from the last series though - shouldn't be too difficult for them to write a cheque.

Though they've lost none of their credibility as presenters, I think Ant and Dec have been very foolish in how they've reacted to this, resorting to the child-like tactic of saying "it wasn't us, we didn't know!".

While I believe their "Executive Producers" role were solely creative and they weren't involved in the logistics of competitions etc. (and that's not uncommon at all), as Executive Producers they have to accept some responsibility - and though Michael Grade doesn't want a witch-hunt, I think Ant and Dec's only credible strategy is too axe the people who were responsible for it and appear to take control of the situation.

P.S. With or without this scandal though, Saturday Night Takeaway was probably coming towards the end of it's life anyway - and though it may be their flagship show, in the last two and a half years there have only been 13 episodes.

LOL, It's one of those is it

The reason they do this though is that many people only read the headlines. I know that where I work we often look at a communal copy of The Sun or some other rubbish at break time, but nobody actually reads the story, just looks at the headlines and the pictures. I expect many News of the World readers do the same

You have to remember that in the first three series of Takeaway, Ant & Dec were credited as Creative Consultants, not executive directors.
