once takeaway finishes, the x factor will probs have the live shows with 2 shows on sat nites, filling up the takeaway time slot, probs with another celeb millionare in between

According to Applause Store The X Factor live shows start on October 14th, once the showmoves to the studio we get the second voting show I think. So Takeaway should still be on the air when this happens.

Thats correct. Next week is the final auditon show, the week after is boot camp, the week after on the 7th October is when they reveal who has made it to the final and then the live shows start on the 14th October. However Takeaway will only have 2 more weeks once the live shows start.

Re the recorded bit last night - I dont see that it matters if they record a small part of the show. They probabaly recorded it just before the show went on air anyway.

Yeah what's the big deal if that bit was recorded, remember the whole Christmas edition last year was recorded.

I seem to recall that last year (and maybe the year before) they did full length shows on the bootcamp show and/or the final elimination show.

Has it occurred to anyone that perhaps they didn't just get a 5 minute safety briefing?

I didn't see the show so I can't really comment, but I'm sure the geordie duo could fall back on their quite magnificent acting past (note sarcasm) to 'fake' a lack of knowledge of safety guidelines.

Sorry to not be so innocent.

Re: X Factor - last year I think both the Boot Camp and reveal stages were double episodes, with Millionaire dropped for a couple of weeks.

Shame the series is so short - will there be a Christmas special again?

Hopefully this time though they'll return for a Winter/Spring series.

Bootcamp was, one episode shown at 6pm and one at 8pm or something like that.

You might like to know that 7.2 million watched it last night according to the overnight figures.

Great to see the boys back! Loved the show, and as always, it was entertaining!

Surely the series is only on for 6 weeks due to I'm A Celebrity. The last Takeaway falls on 22nd October, then they'll need to get to Australia, prepare, and do the show which usually airs during November.

I really did enjoy the programme last night, it ran from strength to strength. I enjoyed every feature, and loved them even more as they were either new, or done differently to how they were before.

I do hope that they have a Christmas Special, and that they come back in the Spring, unless of course they don't want to.

I would have said the bigger deal was Ant & Dec's 22 storey absail, LIVE with only a 5 minute safety briefing. I thought I better not look away in case we ended up talking about a hideous accident that eclipsed Steve Irwin's.

Hate to break it to you, but from what I understand the whole show was actually pre-recorded on Friday.

The abseil was certainly done on Friday evening anyway and they had WAY more than a 5 minute briefing...

I don't think the whole show could have been pre-recorded - the Win the Ads phone-in must have been live (because the number to call was advertised) and I would think the piggy bank item must have been done live also.

I wouldn't be surprised if the abseiling was pre-recorded, but the rest of the show was definitely live.
