Haha that's so weird! Its just like a dubbed SNT!
The titles are basically the same, yet for some reason they feel like a slowed down version.

Can't believe how similar it is, its like they've watched the British show and said 'Right, we want that show, but with the French language'!

Wow, that is virtually the same programme adapted for France. From viewing those first few minutes it looks like nothing has changed. Is the format really that universal?

I see 'Mitre Television' Ant & Dec's company get a credit on that French version. But not Noel Edmonds!! Wink I didn't even know Ant & Dec had a stake in the format apart from striking deals over the years for their companies to co produce it. Sure they might be involved creatively (watching Noel and Jeremy Beadle's ideas) but it was originally an ITV productions creation right? The power of being on screen talent I suppose.

I'm sure it was created by their own production company which was ultimately bought by ITV. They were credited as Executive Producers originally but when the **** hit the fan with the phone-in scandals they claimed it was a title in name only.

Nope definitely not their production company it was Granada. They co produced it through Gallowgate for a few years but again they have a lot of sway don't they. The only true Ant & Dec produced productions I can think of off the top of my head are the Generation Game esque Push the Button and the rather good Pokerface which they sold globally.

The first year or so of SM:TV/CD:UK was made by 'Ant and Dec Productions'

Correct and they did co create that. However when the show got good it coincdentally was made by the parent company Zenith Entertainment / Blaze.

It's funny though, given it was a kids show I found SM:TV more clever and creative than anything they've done since. The primetime audience are a lot easier to please than the kids it would seem!

Not much point in buying the rights to a show like this if it isn't a carbon copy. If they were only going to use elements of it and then add their own stuff it would probably be different enough to be classed as a show in it's own right considering how many of the SNT features are common across the light entertainment genre.

And this weekend, it's an episode of Judge Rinder. Are they ever going to come up with something themselves?

Wouldn't be surprised if it'll be an edition of Loose Women next weekend!

Don't even give them ideas!

They could even resurrect SMTV for one evening....

Always wondered what would happen if the wheels came off the Takeaway train during the live show... and now we know.

Handled better than the time when that little girl forgot her singing lines on BGT and Ant & Dec were standing around fingers in ears literally waiting for instructions as to what to do next...
