Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

Ant and Dec returned tonight - with new titles and a new logo - but quite annoyingly they've kept the old logo throughout - and it even appears in the title sequence.

A few new features:
Ant vs Dec - each week Ant and Dec are set a challenge live on the show and have 7 days to train for it. It replaces What's Next? - but tonight they had their first battle with minutes notice - and even though I rarely watched it in the 90's, I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking "Bring Back Gladiators!".

The * * * Show - basically an audience member hosts a show about themselves, the standard type of surprise set up.

Human Bingo - better than previous version. The Grab the Ads game sees a person grabbing balls in a human bingo machine. I think though to make things slightly different the numbers on the ball should correspond to a caller who then gets to pick a number off the prize board.

The end game has slightly changed - before the contestant decides if to gamble they can see one prize that they've won!

Still a couple of annoying things - the line up for I'm a Celebrity seems to be the line-up for the next set of Undercover, while was that bloke supposed to be marrying in the London Eye tonight - it was forgotten about except for a quick glimpse during the credits.


On the whole though a good show - and I think a key reason why Pop Idol has been axed. ITV would rather run Takeaway along with The X Factor than have to take it off our screen for four months during Pop Idol.

Well whats the difference between the old and new? Does anyone have any caps of the titles, i missed them is it the same music?

Great show I do have to say. I liked the new titles but the other graphics should have been left alone.

PLEASE someone upload the new titles! I missed them and any format apart from a zip file will do!

It's a similar style but Ant and Dec are running through the streets and up sky scrapers, with them lighting up along the way. At the end they enter a small studio on top of a sky scrapper with the titles then zooming out to reveal the new logo which is formed out of a city skyline. Basically "ANT & DEC's" the skyscrapers with "SATURDAY NIGHT TAKEAWAY" in small text underneath.

Yeah and they've changed the background of the logo to fireworks instead of navy and orange...

Also, any people who hate the new KFC ads ain't going to be happy. They now sponsor the show!

I agree, overall a good show, im not a huge fan of Ant and Dec but its OK for a Saturday night.

I think the quiz show hosted by an audience member is a bit rubbish though. Is that a regular thing now?

A priceless moment towards the start of the programme when Ant and Dec decided to surprise a couple of the female audience by getting their partners to propose to them. Although, my lip reading isn't as great as it should be, you could clearly tell that the first woman when surprised mouth the f word full view on camera to which it quickly panned away!

Ah, about time for some new titles. Really like these, shame they cant use that end logo though, it looks bigger and better than the old one.

Also, a new voiceover I think. At the beginning it was a woman telling us what what coming up instead of a man. This series looks like it's going to be better than last. Before, it always seemed like the last half of the show was about wrapping up and just getting it done and over with, it didn't feel like that tonight. And it looks like this is going on for ten weeks this time.
