you mist out that DUSTY BIN, appered!

I didn't mist it out.

But as you mentioned it, I found it amusing that Dusty Bin was listed in the credits with the rest of the guests!

Also the person who drew the credits up must have spent too long looking at endcaps from the early 90s, as the endcap read "A Granada and Talkback Thames co-production for ITV "

It was the same last week.

Tough ident choice this week, post 1988 progs don't tend to get their associated idents recognised as much by anyone outside TV Forum... which makes this weeks choice reasonable... hmmm...

Thames are always having their ident shown. You don't get Yorkshire etc shown much!

I wonder, were the 'come on down's last week already known about in advance or did all the celebrity's in the audience have to make sure they had up to 7 weeks free to appear on the following shows if they got picked.

I wonder! Laughing No one really thinks the contestants on the original show were randomly selected!

It was great seeing a Thames ident tonight. I always liked Take Your Pick, one of my fave ITV quiz shows. Great to see Patsy go through to the semi finals.

I was hoping Ruby would win, so we wouldn't see her the next 2 weeks, although then she'd be in the semi.

Of those still left in, I'd like to see Bill and Vernon win the next 2 weeks of shows, Ruby is too mad and Eammon is a bit annoying now (or narr as he'd say!)

The history of the rights goes much further back and make interesting reading in that The Price Is Right was another invention by the Mark Goodman Productions unit in the US in the 70's; the gods of gameshow who also brought us Family Fortunes and Play Your Cards Right. This unit was taken over in the mid 90's by a large US outfit who themselves were taken over by Pearson TV, who susbsequently sold out to RTL AKA FremantleMedia.

The RTL Group/Freemantle own something like 75% of all gameshow formats - Including old ones such as Price is RIght, Family Fortunes, Going for Gold , Blankety Blank and more recently The Apprentice and Pop Idol
