Really good programme, brings back memories.
Liked the start after the break. "Yorkshire Television Production" caption.
With the old Price is right introduction.
Noticed at the end that it was a Granada/Thames Television co Production. Nice to see Thames after all these years helping with ITV's 50th Birthday. Carlton dead, Thames lives on
Why oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why did we get the visual delight of a Yorkshire Television frontcap from pre 1982? Yes it was very nice but it might as well have been an Thames frontcap. At least that would have made more sense!
I liked the way that most of the props were the actual ones used in the Bruce Forsyth era, so presumably they have been held in store somewhere all these years. The graphics and voiceover man was the authentic one as well. I expect Bullseye won't have the original props what with it being so long ago.

I thought Central produced it! Well according to the clip on TV Ark it is.
The first segment of the show was a "talking heads" style mini-documentary about The Price Is Right, followed by
an Ant and Dec style recreation of the gameshow itself. The actual gameshow segment appeared to be a hybrid
mixture of the original 1984 Leslie Crowther version, and the Brucie version from the 1990's.
The did make a presentation error when they started the gameshow segment, by showing the early 1980's YTV
ident, going to a reworked version of the original 1984 Price Is Right opening titles. Only problem with that was
that the original 1984 Price Is Right was made at Central TV, while the Brucie version was made at YTV.
So, as I'm you'll sure you'll agree, they should have shown the old Central TV "eclipse" ident.

A possible reason maybe because they'll show the Central ident at the start of the Bullseye remake so they thought they'd let Yorkshire (who made the Brucie version and probably helped make the show, what with the script being almost exactly the one Brucie used) take credit this time.

They're at risk of duplication with Bullseye, Family Fortunes and The Golden Shot anyway, with them being Central or ATV productions respectively.
You'd have thought with ITV's grand history that they'd get their own history a little more accurate than that.
That puzzled me as well - the only obvious connections were Carol Vorderman and Vernon Kay appearing, but they're not exclusive to C4 anyway!
It was quite a good nostalgia fest, though as I feared suffered slightly in a 30-minute show being padded out to an hour with the first ten minutes being nothing more than an intro.
Anyone know what's next then? I wonder if ITV would bring any back as a full series if any really stand out!
