OK. Other TV channels went off briefly too, but are back, but Border still down. Both Border Scotland / England are down - two transmitters down, or maybe another problem ?
Carlisle is absolutely hectic, I've just been there.

Did you get in, thought it was completly cut off?
I was coming out from Carlisle College area, the main road into Carlisle - Scotland Road was shut, I had to go through an area called Houghton to get out.
It would seem the BBC, C4 and C5 are all off in Cumbria, as well as Border, there must be major problem with th transmitter, TV has been off all day. The only anologue channel available here in Dumfries is BBC1 Scotland. We don't get BBC2 Scotland on anologue here in southern Scotland !!!, and so BBC2 England ( and 1 ), 4 and 5 all come from a cumbrian transmitter, but I'm not sure which one. I wonder when normal service will resume.
So much for get in, stay in, tune in - if a flood takes out a transmitter what odds have you got in the event of something worse?
The transmitter is at Caldbeck, I suspect the problems are with the wind rather than flooding there. Most likely the electricity supply has failed due to power lines coming down.
BBC 1 North East, BBC 2 England, both versions of Border, C4 and C5 are transmitted from there, as are Freeview (aka DTT) channels. Are they on the air still ? DTT transmitters have standby generators, the power output of these is such that it is viable to use gennys. Is the ILR service CFM 96.4 on the air still ? That's also at Caldbeck.
BBC 1 and 2 Scotland, as well as BBC FM radio comes from nearby Sandale, it looks as if that's unaffected so far ?

Over this side of the Borders (Berwickshire area), BBC1/2 Scotland, Channel 4 and five are still on the air. The only one which isn't is Border Scotland, though there is now sound only on analogue and a frozen picture on Freeview together with a "Border TV - Technical Fault" caption. Some parts of the Borders - western Peebleshire and eastern Berwickshire - can also receive signals from other transmitters on analogue, so at least they can access an alternative ITV.
Carlisle is completely under water as the river Eden has burst its banks, with the power there also off, so I doubt CFM will be on the air either.
Says a lot when severe weather blanks out an entire ITV region!
