BBC NI has reported that the TV presenter and journalist Anne Gregg has died at the age of 66.

On a personal note I'd like to say she was a lovely woman, and an excellent broadcaster, who I was lucky enough to meet 8 years ago when she helped me with a University project.

From The TV Room Plus:
Presenter of UTV's local news magazine programme 'Roundabout', she was also an announcer at the station. She left Ulster Television to join Anglia TV's 'About Anglia' in 1962, before moving to the BBC in London where she was an in-vision announcer from 1963 to 1964. She is well known for her work on the 'Holiday' programme from 1980 to 1991. She was also a BBC Radio 4 announcer in 1982

That is very sad news. Anne always came across as well on television and was one of the first local broadcasters from Northern Ireland who went on to a lengthy and established national career, but she never forgot her roots and it was a pleasure to see her back on local TV when growing up.

My condolences to her family and those who knew her.

Well, at least one media outlet has managed to report it.

There's nothing on u.tv, but UTV Live ran a report on Anne's death in tonight's programme, it featured a clip of Anne appearing on Kelly in the early 1990s - it, naturally, took the angle on her starting her career at Ulster Television.

Shame they didn't dig out the clip of her interviewing Bing Crosby on "Roundabout" in 1963, or Anne presenting UTV's 21st anniversary documentary, "Do You Remember?".
