Or are you just thinking of post-merger, if it still happens...

Isn't the GMG/Carlton merger already on-course for happening in Oct 2003?

Soon, but no specific date last I heard - I'll check the websites for press releases.

11 Mar 2003: http://www.granadamedia.com/cyberdocs/Referal11303.doc

Carlton's last press release is dated 21/05/2003 and there's nothing listed about the merger.

Is this the East or West variant? Confused I hope West isn't still on a CSO set, it looks shabby! Anglia, just give West an identical set to East and be done with it, please. Rolling Eyes

Sorry to go off-subject, but does anyone know the address for the site containing the ITV regional news streams?

I don't know why, but I simply cannot take Anglia News seriously. This new look is as bad as the old one - in fact the only thing I actually like about Anglia News is that rather dashing presenter on the caps on the previous page Wink

As far as I'm concerned, they need to change a lot more radically than they have done.

The CSO studio was still being used at 1250 and at 3, why do the continue to use this? Whats the reason behind it?

The trade minister makes her decision on the first week in October. What she says depends on whether they merge.

Dashing? Am I missing something?

London could do with a refresh. We have had the same set, music and titles since 1993.

Yes I do watch. They have had the same studio set looking out over london since LNN took over in 1993. The music is the same da-da-daaaa-da-daa-daa-da-da that they have had since day one.

No it's not, it's quite different. The original titles featured circles and swooshing L's and T's meeting each other, and the familiar excellent music, which ended in a "Lon-don To-night" style -- and the 'London' and the 'Tonight' separated as they went to the presenters.

It was revamped awfully in 1998, and the current, quite different look has now been around since late 1999. Why would they change the studio, with that real backdrop onto the Thames? It's quite unique.

It is the longest running regional news look though having said that -- several regions have updated twice in the time, including Anglia.
