Did BBC1 intend to use the Salsa ident for "And It's Goodnight From Him" the tribute programme to Ronnie Barker tribute programme?

If so, I won't be surprised if they get critisized. It's a bit cheeky that they are showing a tribute programme for a strongly missed dead person and using a lively ident.

Could be worse. Could use Hip Hop or Music Video.

I think complaining about the type of ident used to introduce the programme is pathetic. Rolling Eyes

He was a comedian for crying out loud! It didn't matter what ident they used.

Sorry if that sounds insensitive but its true.

Oh for God sake. The programme is meant to be a celebration of Ronnie's life rather than a sombre look at his death. I think Salsa was a good choice of ident.

By the way, and a little off centre......(only people from Norn Iron will get this.........)

What have Ronnie Barker & Jim Gray got in common??
Neither will be doing porridge again.....
And it's good night from him
And it's good night from Jim

Cue the ....... "I found that insensitive and in poor taste" comments....... Rolling Eyes

Can I squeeze in a "Who the hell is Jim Gray" comment first?

Nasty criminal type who ended up on the wrong end of some summary justice by former "colleagues" the other night.

No, the computer developed a mind of it's own.

Seems like a perfectly reasonable choice to me, not too lively, not too quiet and perfectly applicable to the generation that remember his programmes first time round

Nothing wrong with that ident. As was said above, it was a celebration of the life of a very funny man, who was partial to a bit of dancing and singing himself. I'm sure he would have seen the funny side. Rolling Eyes
