All these lurkers and yet still no official word from J*ron Br*ss. Has anyone tried emailing him?

I know I’ve asked this only about a day ago, but because I’m an impatient person I shall ask again... what did Jaron do?

I’m so sad to hear this news but sadly not surprised.
What was once an enjoyable site talking about tv presentation and respectful of various opinions, over the past few years seems to have attracted an audience more suited to Digital Spy.
I’d like to thank the originators of this site and also the old guard for their wonderful contribution,it really has been a joy hearing your thoughts and stories.
I personally will miss logging in each day but hope we can meet again in another place soon.

James Martin Returns
Even worse, let's try and get James Martin back 😱

You rang?

Putting the past to one side, I'm actually really saddened by this news, but at the same time it did not come as a total surprise - it's felt for a while that this is where things might be headed. 20 years is a long time anywhere but especially online. I was 16 when I first found the place, I'm heading towards 40 now!

I'll miss the insight, and especially the tech talk in the Eurovision thread having been to the last two productions live (and was all set to go to Rotterdam as well.)

The world changes, and newer generations are not going to have the same outlook or approach as the ones before them. For me, it's another part of my past that has itself become part of the past.

So congratulations Asa on 20 years. I wish Rob well and I look forward to the new Forum.

Can we have a "best bits" montage over The Tourists at the very end of the last night?!

You've been a wonderful audience, and TV Live are very lucky to have you!

All the way from New Zealand I would like to thank Asa and the team for all the work they’ve put in and all the discussions I’ve taken part in.

Joined here as bbcworld2003 I think, in 2004 when I came across BBC world overnight on TVNZ 1 at the age of 15.

Google took me to a BBC News 24 page on TV Home when I was seeking to find out more about the channel then I stumbled upon tv forum. From there my interest in TV branding was born.

All the best for your future endeavours Asa and thank you to everyone again.

James Martin is an excellent name.

Are you also not the chef?

Welcome back.

I shall really miss this place. I stumbled upon it in 2003 (before I even owned a computer of my own ) and the first things I remember discussing were the repeat of Woodentop (The Bill pilot) and the live episode; the final episodes of Brookside; UTV giving a warning before showing Corrie’s first gay kiss; ITV Schools music (Frivolity) used in a trail for Rosemary and Thyme; and learning that the word Luxton had been added to the swear filter (or perhaps it hadn’t but Simon wanted it to)!

I really will miss this forum - both the intelligent, enlightening discussions and the goofy silly threads. I do hope we find a new place to hang out!

Thank you to Asa and all the moderators for their sometimes thankless work in maintaining this excellent discussion forum.

A question - will the forum continue to be accessible in a “read only” format? I would hate to lose this archive of TV-related discussion!

It will, as per Asa's thread starter.

Not the only person to pretend to be something they're not, who else remembers steddenm's "Trafalgar group" which had seemingly been involved in practically every TV show going?

No, he's a homophobe and Tommy Robinson supporter. Which is why he got banned from both here and Metropol to begin with. More than once when he kept setting up new accounts and kept returning to form. I remember the homophobic abuse he hurled at people and I'm not sure I want to be civil to him even now. I feel incredibly uncomfortable with him being back here again, i hope Rob keeps him off the new forums.

Thanks. Somehow I missed that part of Asa’s message.

Let's take this to PMs please James. I'm not denying I wasn't an utter tosspot in the past, which I regret, but on this thread isn't the place to dig that up.

"In the past", it was only a year or two back one of your many accounts got banned for singing the praises of Tommy Robinson. There's posts still up on Metropol of you defending the BNP, a couple of which have quite racist language in them. 15 years old or not I consider it repulsive.

I won't say any more for now, but don't PM me, please.
