Kylie Minogue's is next. It was recorded at the LWT studios on Sunday and goes out on October the 6th.
I was there, well at the London Studios but I was there for Laughter File 6 (which will include the HTV Wales Telethon 90 debacle) anyway I saw some stars going in for the Kylie Minogue thing including Paul from Eastenders, Letisha and Danny from Emmerdale, Jez and Geena from Corrie, the Scottish prison officer from Bad Girls, Narinder from Big Brother and Lady Victoria Hervey. (What exalted circles I mix in! )

So who's next then? And BBT, you need a new name - Thames is back! (credits now say 'copyright Thames Television Ltd' on Pop Idol, The Bill and Wish You Were Here)

Thames never went away, it only got bumped as the weekly ITV provider for the South East
It DID go away! It was just a brand of Pearson, whereas now it's a company in its own right!

My name will not change until Thames ousts Crapton for the London Weekday licence. Until I hear 'Good Evening, this is Thames Television from London - it's nice to be back!' my name will remain as it is.
An Audience With...
was origianlly a thing for COMEDIANS (name sover the years have included Dame Edna, Billy Connolly, Victoria Wood, Kenneth Williams...)
But in recent years it has changed to SINGERS/BANDS etc
I think the last comedy one was Jimmy Tarbuck, and the first music one was Shirley Bassey (names since then have included The Bee Gees, Elton John, The Spice Girls and of course now Kylie Minogue)
WHY THE SUDDEN CHANGE? The title
An Audience With...
was long associated with COMEDY specials, not MUSIC specials.
When ITV (as ITV1 was called at the time) decided to start making occasional music specials, why did they pinch the
An Audience With...
title from the comedy specials? Why could they not think of something else to call the music specials?
Comedy specials that have occured since then have been called
An EVENING With...
(names have included Lily Savage and Spike Milligan)
Why couldn't the
Audience
title have been left where it was, and the
Evening
title be given to the newer idea of music specials? How irrational are ITV?

That brings a valid question - when does Crapton (as you elegantly put it) licence run out?
Maybe Thames will put a bid in for it Or maybe try to oust LWT. Imagine that. Carlton Mon-Fri, Thames Sat-Sun.
I'm not bothered, as long as if that was the case, Thames adopt a video wall
