Well, I'm not ditching Netflix and subscribing to Amazon's video service just for this. I'll wait until it
becomes available on either a normal broadcast channel, or via certain "unofficial" sources . . .

It is possible to have a subscription to both services, you know.

I'm well aware of that thank you very much. I don't want to subscribe to both Netflix and Amazon. Netflix is enough at the moment.

You may be able to purchase per episode or if you don't have Prime, use the 30 day free trial when the shows are uploaded.

This may well be the case, but how many people will make the effort?

This is more akin to Conan O'Brien signing to TBS rather than Fox or another major network. It's a risk, because although it initially pays well and you become a big fish in the proverbial small pond, it can dent your popularity in the long term.

Will the series have a similar returns policy to Amazon's merchandise, should it turn out to be crap ? Laughing

Amazon do seem more willing to sell on secondary rights to a broadcast channel than Netflix so I'd be surprised if it didn't get a broadcast airing.

Hopefully Amazon Prime Video will launch on Roku in the UK before this happens!

Doesn't Sky have a stake in Roku which led to the Amazon app not being on UK (non Now TV) boxes in the first place?

Amazon Prime Video is pretty standard on Connected TVs, so for most recent receiver owners it'll be a quick re-plug even if their smart device of choice doesn't have the necessary app.

A full list of compatible devices is on the Amazon website, although it's mainly LG, Samsung, Panasonic and Sony. It's not on any of the budget supermarket/Argos brand connected tv's.

No they don't have a stake or no that's not why Amazon haven't launched on Roku in the UK?
I'm fairly sure Sky have a considerable financial stake in Roku.

Sky and News Corp ARE key investors in Roku, providing significant funding over it's development phase.
