As much as I would like to see Thames back on air they have long gone. The Thames I remembered ceased on 31st December 1992
The Thames TV that exists now is a shadow of it's former self literarly.
To be honest If they do change it to any diffrent name it would be Granada (Carlton probably would have renamed it to themselves if they were the majority holder instead of Granada when the merger happened) However people are getting quite used to the ITV brand now in England & Wales so theres really no need to change it

ITV <insert region name here> = ITV1
ITV XTRA = ITV2
ITV DRAMA or ITV GOLD = ITV3
ITV PLUS = ITV4

Then the ITV name can be carried through the "FAMILY" of channels and we get Regional ITV1 back too. The channels will also reflect what that are all about....as opposed to the BBC's way of giving each channel a number.....
