2003 marks 25 years since the first Alright on the Night. With that in mind, how about a repeat of programme 1? Well it never hurts to ask - and it's the only episode I haven't got!

The 25th anniversary actually happened last year! The first one went out on September 18th, 1977 and the Silver Jubilee was marked with Alright 15 - "Silver Jubilee Special" - on September 14th, 2002. The first one evidently hasn't been scrubbed as a small piece of it featured on number 15.

It's true it was 1977. A friend of mine did a copy for me from some junked non vhs tapes, and although the show was a little slow, Denis was already preparing material for IBAOTN 2.

That's interesting - DN was initially a little unsure if the first show would take off. Thankfully it did, and the rest, as they say, is history.
