That was quite good actually. The constant repeat of the various catchphrases got a bit annoying after 29 times though. Was good to hear an American style laugh and applause every time one was said i must admit. Had the series continued i reckon that would have actually happened.
well Afonce had his dicky ticker so maybe it was the dodgy eye, premature hair loss and immature weight gain that made him a catch.
I'm a bit lost as to how the reunion was meant to be the present day since the cast have only aged 15 years and not 62 years. Most of them would be knocking 100 if they were in their 30/40s during the war.
Unless of course the reunion was set in 1960

The sort of half documentary, half stage show idea is an interesting one which I wouldn't thought of happening. I got about quarter of an hour in before I hit pause and went out. But I liked what I saw until then and am looking forward to watching the rest this evening!

I think Renee said it was "15 years on", so the "episode" last night would have been late 1950s. 15 years on, because the the series ended in 1992 (real time) of course. So the late fifties would be "present day" for Rene and co, if you see what I mean-- either way Rene was breaking the fourth wall.
It's funny how the cast have changed since 1992. Kirsten Cooke and Vicky Michelle haven't changed, whereas the rest of the cast have just got greyer or tubbier!
Interesting to note that Richard Gibson was interviewed, but no appearance by Herr Flick. Complete absence of Kim "Helga" Hartman, Gavin "Captain Bertorelli" Richards and Ken "Flockenstoffen" Morley Or Maria?
Although it was nice to hear the actors say the catchphrases again, the constant repetition of them in the docu tediously got on my nerves as well-- too much like watching an episode of
Little Britain
or
Catherine Tate
at times
Anyhow, great to see them all re-united-- I like the way they mixed the episode in with that fascinating docu with it too.
Was it me, or did last night's episode have a melancholy air about it?
