Has anyone noticed how, on the ITN News Channel, Alison Bell now goes to the trouble of telling us when she's next on when she's finished?

Tonight at 1.55pm, she signed off saying 'that's all from me today, I'm back tomorrow morning at 5.30 but next, Leyla will be here with more of the days news...'. I quite like Alison, but I wonder why she does this, as none of the others do! It does sound quite good, friendly even.

Also, on the subject of ITN, I was watching last night at just after midnight, and I'm sure the Money news was all different. The sting came up with the little spinny-round arrow animation, but then it said 'ITN Money, sponsored by IBM', which was followed by the money news presented by a voiceover bloke instead of the main presenter. Very weird. I've not seen it today, however, even though I watched for a bit this afternoon.

The American news network's programmes are built around the presenters. A lot of the programmes are named after the presenters themselves... eg 'The News with Brian Williams', 'Newsfront with Ashleigh Banfield and Lester Holt' (title's to long for my taste); 'The Fox Report with Shepherd Smith', the 'O'reilly Factor' -- 'Larry King Live' , 'Wolf Blitzer Reports' . . . . the list goes on and on and on!

Yes, I think ITN are trying to do this with the introduction of the presenter name in the title on most hours, as I've mentioned numerous times. I hope ITN start to pick up with their ratings, they deserve to.
