The implication of your post is essentially that Scotland would trot off and England would just keep the institutions as they are but without x% of the staff.
Leaving the BBC out of this for a moment and going with the nice obvious military example, what would happen to the hardware? Would Scotland keep a set number of planes? You can't just say "but they are UK planes so England gets to keep them" because of course Scottish taxpayers have paid towards them.
The reverse example is of course RBS. RBS is a company registered in Scotland so would the debt pumped into that bank suddenly be dumped upon the new independent Scotland? Whilst I'm sure some of the more tedious Daily Mail types would be of the view this is perfectly logical and so it should be it would also result in the likely collapse of the bank and take a massive amount of English people's / taxpayers / companies / foreign companies money with it.
If Scotland was to secede from the UK it would essentially be the destruction of the country as it currently exists . England, Wales & NI would have challenges potentially as massive and this isn't even considering such possibilities like Russia using it as an excuse to get us booted out of the UN Security Council due to a reduction in the power of the country.

It's depends on what the negotiations produced after the would-be 'yes' vote. Most likely, the new state would inherit some of the BBC's assets but it would no longer be the BBC, it'd be something else. Employees would be similar but I can see some wanting to remain with the BBC or just leave altogether, so chances are the new state broadcaster would have to advertise some positions; inlcuding most of the 'top dog' ones.

LOL - though that's a good point. They'd be quite satisfaction in deporting Frankie Boyle.
We'll let you have Lorraine Kelly back

I think the current vote loser for the SNP is the Olympics. Despite the London Centric comments, I know several vocal Scots who have softened their views on GB over the last month.....
It won't last, although was interesting to see them change attitudes.
It is strongly suspected that if there was a referendum tomorrow the SNP would lose quite dramatically. The reason that they wish to drag it out is two fold, firstly so that they can hope that the Tory govt becomes hideous enough to gather them up a bit more support .

The referendum will come at the same time as the Commonwealth Games.
Which will be hosted in Glasgow.

Although here, Scotland will be competing against England, Wales and N Ireland and not as a combined set of nations.

But will that be of advantage to the Yes camp or the No camp?
