I think it different, and actually very good, not like all the other shows

Yeah, I'm enjoying it too. There's a good mix of content and Alan is likeable.

I have to say in terms of daytime TV, ITV wins hands down for me. Today, I've only watched Neighbours on BBC ONE. On ITV, I've watched This Morning, Loose Women and Alan Titchmarsh. I'd much rather have live, topical shows in the daytime than the pre-recorded manufactured crap BBC ONE features during daytime. That doesn't interest me one iota.

I also caught The Alan Titchmarsh show and enjoyed it.

It was such a mix of everything - he tried to bring a thread in of 'this show is celebrating everything that is good about Britain' - not sure whether that was just the subject of that episode or whether its a daily feature.

The set was VERY Paul O Grady but that is where the similarities ended. It was much more formal with a QVC feel, That's Life features and guests and only a touch of Generation Gameness. I thoroughyl enjoyed the debate between Carole Malone and the other guy - it was like Talk Sport but on the telly!

Yes - it really suited the 3pm slot and i will try and catch it again soon.

My only gripe now is that ITV1 is relying too much on the same genre of show This Morning, Loose Women, Alan Titchmarch and then Sean Cotton Show - too much studio based shows - they need at lease one DIY/Antiques and gameshow in the schedule aswell!!!!!

Well, currently, they do have that David Dickinson antiques programme at 2pm before Titchmarsh, and at 4pm they have Heartbeat, or something similar. So, there is some variety, unlike BBC ONE which only has antiques and house programmes and absolutely nothing studio-based apart from the news! I really do think ITV have overall best daytime line-up. I find their programming much more watchable than the BBC's. As I said earlier, the only programme I watch on the BBC during daytime hours is Neighbours. The rest is mostly ITV with a hint of Channel 4 for Countdown/R&J/POG.

I liked the show but the set i didn't like! Enough with the desks. I think it works on Paul O'Grady but i much prefer the sofas like This Morning and Richard and Judy.

Yes, I agree there. I think a sofa for the guests and a chair for Alan would have been a better idea. Something like the arrangement for LK Today (I haven't seen it for ages, but I think it was like that). The desk idea is just a bit too formal.

I have just seen the Alan Titchmarsh show yesterday for the first time and I couldn't believe that they have just taken Paul O'Grady's ITV1 set moved the desk to the right and use it for Alan's show. Even the potted plants where the guests walk in were used 2 years ago on Paul's series?

Can't ITV afford a proper set? I thought the show was alright, a bit of a change from the usual round of repeats and lifestyle rubbish you get on ITV1 at that time of day.

It is coming from Television Centre, so it has that in common with Paul O'Grady too!

I wonder if the show uses the same studio, TC6 as Paul O'Grady used at Television Centre.

It is very popular with chatshows and programmes made for ITV1 at Television Centre because it is the only studio there which has the production gallery on the ground floor.

I think I read somewhere TC6 was the same studio used for ITV1's Goldenballs with Jasper Carrott.

Does anyone know how long will the Alan Titchmarsh show be running for?

I am begining to warm to it now and I hope he gets a good run so he can settle into the programme.
