Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow

Pretty much a retake on Gameshow Marathon in my opinion.

I thought they did these with civilians? I remember them calling for contestants before they filmed these.
Have you washed your hands?

I think it’s just the first one that’s got celebrity contestants. Alan seemed to suggest it’s just this episode at the start.

Didn't they film seven episodes, with five in the regular series and two as Christmas specials? I was only expecting celebs on the latter, if they were used at all.

And how did they not catch that editing blunder with the contestant intros? They've had plenty of time to fix that, considering the delays this show has had.

How many people must have seen this before it got to air?

All the remaining episodes are civilians, including the Christmas special. No doubt if it got a second run it would end up being all celebs.

It just feels a bit cheap and nasty this 'epic' play your cards right.

Far too many cards i.e. 3's coming out in a row (clearly hardly bothered to shuffle them from the order they were printed!)

The semi final and final rounds not the same as the original.

No dollies dealing (cos of the world we now live in)

Alan is no match for Brucie...

I do like PYCR, but if they are gonna bring it back, do it proper.

Its like that Blankety blank they did with David walliams a few xmas's ago. Done on the cheap.

Bring back the UTV!

To me, it was too slow in places and I think that’s mostly due to it being an hour long show.

I believe the format (Card Sharks in the US) was changed, which is similar to what was seen tonight, without any of the money betting. In the previous versions it was far closer to the original format of the time.

Presumably an "independent adjudicator" was floating around so the card outcomes weren't planted, but again that's more of an American thing to slap it on the credits and we've never really done that.

I suspect because we only ever saw Brucie doing this show anybody else will struggle to take it over now he's no longer with us. I think it may be a case of being the wrong host for the wrong format on this occasion. Plus it was a classic case of something being stretched out to an hour for the sake of it. Does nobody know how to make half hour gameshows anymore?

I think The Price is Right should fare better mostly because Alan has already presented it.

I thought it was a decent effort really and although the changes at the end were for changes sake they were still in the spirit of the game. I didn't think it was cheap at all and as for the "dolly dealers" - the Daily Star summed it up best by running a story about them being axed complete with a picture of the dealer being used on the show.

Thought it was a decent effort but like others have said felt a bit stretched out. In Gameshow Marathon before the game was played there was a short piece about the history of the game with talking heads saying why they loved it. Perhaps they should have done the same here?

Also, what else has Chris Ramsey been one apart from panel shows or Christmas one-off specials? Very Happy
