I just do not understand him. We've seen the real Al Murray many times now so his "Pub Landlord" act all seems a complete wasted persona to me. Anyone else agree? I wouldn't be surprised if this show was scripted by Ivor Baddiel!
Look at Rik Mayal, he's on stage as Alan B'Stard, but we have seen him as Richard Richard, and in the Young Ones. The Pub Landlord is just an outspoken, character, like Alan Partridge on his Talk Show, and lets not forget Mrs Merton!
Al Murray was certainly a refreshing change tonight. The interviews were a bit random and I liked the way he said "Yuh!" as the interviewee was talking as though he was bored at what they were saying. A bit cringeworthy at times but I will watch again next week!
Definitely the best chatshow ITV have done in a while. Al Murray was a proper laugh, even if his constant "Yeh, yeh" was annoying Series linked the rest of them
Al Murray's Pub Landlord was best in "Time Gentlemen Please" - shame a 3rd series wasn't commissioned. How about ITV commissioning it foreither a weekday 10pm slot or late Saturday slot (before the late news)
Katie Price and Peter Andre (...obviously)
David Gest (part of ITVs Make Use of the I'm A Celeb contestants)
erm... and probably... some American... Joan Rivers.
