Advertising on BBC3?

I noticed tonight that trailers for other films were played prior to Tropic Thunder on BBC3 this evening. Is this now permitted? it seems to be blatant advertising.

Incidentally one of the films advertised was something about an overweight family that appeared to be a rather direct infringement of the family in The Nutty Proffessor.

It's part of the film, they are spoof trailers.

Just relieved I hadn't pressed send on my strongly worded complaint to the ASA. Laughing

Did you think they were genuine film ads? The one with Tobey Maguire was one of the funniest spoof trailers I've seen in a long time!

Yep I thought they were genuine - was working on the laptop whilst half watching - will have to rent the film now to see the spoofs.
