On Tyne Tees last night, at the 9.45 break in the Bill, went out a strange advert which I cant recall being around for a hell of a long time.

They were promoting advertising on Tyne Tees, and they kept showing clips of the ITV1 TTTV ident. Just goes to show how badly they need ad revenue.

Funny isnt it, though, that it was constantly referred to as Tyne Tees and never 'ITV1'. What a surprise that they market it regionally when it suits them!!!

What did the other GMG stations do?

Yes I saw exactly the same on Meridian too!

ITV Channel Islands
I've also seen it alot on Meridian - advertising on your local ITV1 - Meridian Television.

Very corporate and sounds very desperate !

Are the CARLTON companies doing this as well?

Never seen it on Carlton (London)

Reminds me of a bus ad which is quite similar 'Bus ads work - you're reading this one aren't you?'
I have also heard this sort of ad on local radio so perhaps all advertising sectors are doing badly!!
This ad is obviously aimed at small-fry businesses who otherwise wouldn't have thought about TV/Radio advertising, rather than larger corporations.

Carlton Central have a type of business ad I'm sure with a number to call.

I saw it for the first time today on Anglia, where it showed a map briefly too of the macro region, it mentioned ITV1 mostly, and Anglia about once or twice, with a bit of the ident.

I've never seen an ad like this on Carlton London/LWT though.

It has been on Granada twice with playing the lines music and ITV1 reaches to over 80% of adults per week or something it says like that.
