UK pay-TV channel Fox is launching an Adult Swim-branded block after striking a deal with Turner Broadcasting.
The broadcaster has acquired irreverent animated US series Rick and Morty and Mr. Pickles as part of the launch line-up for the block, which will run on Thursday evenings at 11pm from September.
Rick and Morty follows an alcoholic scientist and his grandson, while Mr. Pickles features the comical escapades of the Goodman family and their demonic border collie.
The shows will air on Fox after Family Guy and American Dad.
The block is expected to expand “at a later date” with shows such as Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Venture Bros, Black Jesus and Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell also set to air.
It is the latest deal between Fox and Turner for Adult Swim content. FX previously ran a branded block in 2010 with shows including Robot Chicken, Titan Maximum Venture Brothers and Metalocalypse.
However, Adult Swim content moved to Turner-owned network TCM 2 in 2012 before the channel closed in August 2013.
Jeff Ford, managing director, Fox International Channels UK said: “The acquisition of these satirical, riotous new series cements Fox as the home of adult animated and live action comedy on Thursday nights in the UK.”
