The thing with Victoria Sugden that puzzles me is with the previous child actress, that was involved in the Robert & Katie affair storyline, where she had found out about the affair, where they bullied her to keep quiet(In fact she never spoke out of fear!)

When that storyline was resolved, Victoria was shipped off abroad to Grandma Annie's and returned with her new head & a street smart attitude!

Mind you, has she had much to do with Katie in recent years?

Dont think so.

Malcolm 'Norris Cole' Hebden played a Spaniard in the 70s, Very Happy think he was called Carlos, I'm sure he lived with Bet Lynch or next door to her for a time, if you dig deeply on youtube there's some full episodes with him in it.

EDIT: Found it!

I had heard of Malcolm Hebden appearing long before he was cast as Norris. I have heard there were quite a few actors who played more than one part in Coronation Street.

The ITV Schools series How We Used To Live, while an excellent drama and sometimes more like a "proper" drama than a schools programme, often used the same actors in different series. Although they normally only made a new series every three years (which was repeated for two years after the original showing), How We Used To Live was set in the same town and while many of the series covered very different eras, the same actors were still in more than one series playing completely different parts. A slight continuity problem here, perhaps?

Granada North West Today
Pauline Quirk and Linda Robson started working together in the 70s/early 80s (I forget) in Shine on Harvey Moon - long before Birds of a Feather.

They've been friends since they were children, as evidenced by the titles of BoF as I recall. Both series were written by Marks & Gran, too.

the opening credits of birds of a feather feature two little girls, always wondered if it was cine footage of Pauline and Linda as children, or just a mock up

A mock up. I recall reading a newspaper article in the 90s about producers having gone on the hunt for two little girls who resembled Quirke and Robson - and picturing them a couple of years after the cine footage was made for Birds of a Feather, alongside the real women - and looking surprisingly like them.
