Acrobats

Now we've got several different dancers idents, it's interesting to see how the theme music is adapted for each one - one of the best bits in my opinion.

How come though, Acrobats has different music, it doesn't fit in at all!

It does actually follow the same tune if you listen carefully.

I can't hear it no matter how carefully I listen!

acrobat's BBC1 theme doesn't start until a tad into the ident. The intro is differnt but then it does play abiet slowly.

Just try to ignore the swooping strings chords at the beginning, listening to the rather faint cello/double bass playing (which gets louder after the initial strings part). The tune, as with most of the idents, is not exactly the same, but does follow on the same basis. If you still can't hear it then, listen to the Capoeira music first and then try again - you should get it eventually!!

The BBC ONE theme is there, in the violins bit...

The dodgy thing about the Acrobats music is the way it is so blatently copying the track "Clubbed to Death" (from The Matrix, and also used on the E4 spoof ident!).

It is there, but not till a fair way into it, if you listen to this little MP3 I've made you can hear it fairly well, and when compared with some of the other themes

The quality is not amazing but it gives you the idea. All the themes to the idents are very well done, its just the visual part that is pants.

Listend to it, can u there the running theme in them now?

God, yeah it is there isn't it!

It much more obvious on Bail's mpeg. I listened to it on the TV Home clip and couldn't hear it. It's well in the background on that. Once you know its there, its obvious though.

I do think they're starting to win me over now and think they'll be with us for a while. They're starting to convince me that theres loads of scope.

It's the same as music for me. If I hate an album when I first listen to it, and then it grows on me, I'll grow to love it. If I like an album straight away, I soon get bored of it as it's too obvious.

Will the dance idents be the same!!!?

I know what you mean about them growing on you - they're having the same affect on me... Although I never particularly hated them, I didn't ever think they were anything special. Now I'm beginning to like them a lot more. Which, I suppose, is a good thing!

Hmm, I think Acrobats is by far my favourite, but the E4 version is so much better!

Acrobats is one of the better BBC ONE idents. The music is quite good comapred to the other idents, it's a bit different, Festival is great too. Why is that every new ident seems better than their first efforts, I must be getting too familiar with them.

As much as I like the new idents (that have been around for nearly a year now! ), I think that E4 ident is bloody funny!



Yes, when Bollywood and Music Video came out I studied each one of them carefully, the music on Bollywood when it starts is the "standard" music throughout the whole ident set, whereas I found Music Video took a time to kick in, unlike the girl used there!
