Christ not again, I was like the originator of this thread, wanting to see the licence fee scrapped back in 2001.
However I have since seen the light & would rather keep it, afterall look at the state of the channels we don't pay for, ITV1 is struggling with advertising revenue since hundreds of other channels came on the scene, Channel 4 although still a fairly good channel has some money issues & five is just, well I don't really know what they stand for anymore

Well Domdom isn't that clever. He has repeatedly spelt Licen c e Fee incorrectly. As any "fule kno" licence is the noun and license is the verb
Unless you're an American-- because folk across the pond spell it "license" in both contexts. Since it is the British Broadcasting Corporation we're talking about, it's the television licen c e and the Licence Fee.

Dear POV
I wish to complain about the state of the license fee, that is still FAR to low!
I also feel its aboulsaty disgrace that some people complain about the license fee. I think people like that who do not wont to cough for this grand long serving service that you provide should have there eye poke out with a hot poker!
I would selling all my worldly goods just to see even more will round entertainment on the BBC

Not the Nine weren't far off in 1980 when the sketch said that the licence fee of £32 was far too low (which has been borne out through time, its now £136 twenty seven years on). Mind you a subsequent follow-up was the "pay your TV licence. Its cheaper than a funeral" sketch, also a NTNOCN advert spoof.
Anyway, Licence fee opinion: £136 a year is cheap when you compare it to gibbons such as Income Tax, Council Tax and what not, plus you can see it on your screen. Tax (as a whole) goes up every year and services go down.

Well exactly, when I was younger I thought this was a high bill (admittedly the prices were a bit lower 10 years ago) but compared to London Borough Of Redbridge's Council Tax, British Gas, Essex & Suffolk Water, etc, etc. It's actually quite cheap.
Plus Sky is a lot dearer for even more crap

When I once compared something to cancer on this forum, I got a right mauling from Nick Harvey. So why is this troll not being afforded the same privilige? Especially as I did not (and would never) wish the disease on anyone.

I'm not wishing the disease on anyone, and I'm not trolling. It was just a cheap comeback, although I would rather stay in and watch TV than increase my risk of skin-cancer. Cancer isn't nice for anyone, and I wasn't wishing it on Domdom. I'm sorry if it came across as malicious. my main aim of that post was to stick up for Gavin, nothing else.
