One of the most amazing presentation packages I think I've ever seen on any channel in the last few years. These are quite simply beautiful.
As to the music, it is the same as the music on the normal idents, hasn't been jazzed up or anything like that. In fact the extended ident is being aired more and more now between programmes during the daytime, not just overnight. It would seem there are less commercials and more trailers than there used to be so the playout system's playing the full ident to keep itself on time.

I would hate to think how much they pixellate on Freeview, they already pixellate slightly on Sky, which has a much higher bitrate.
Absolutely horribly! Also, it's a shame the animation on the abc1 form up at the end of the ident and bumpers isn't as smooth as usual. There seems to be a couple of frames missing as the 1 rolls in to place.

I noticed that, the squares animate as smooth as normal, but the actual abc1 logo animations are missing quite a few frames. I guess it's all the background animation, the computer couldn't cope rendering the 3D logo animations over that.

The "ting" when the logo forms is enough of a change to the music - I like "subtle" when it comes to Christmas.
Even the graphics are the "same" - just with different colours. Love it, love it, love it.
EDIT: Bleugh, a very "squashed" sting on that break.

The breakflashes have only ever been made in 4:3, yet it's broadcast in 16:9, resulting in the squash. It's probably due to the fact that the breakflash strangely comes from another playout system. Also the music for the breakflash has been remixed, which I think sounds better.

It's such a shame about the missing frames - surely they've got enough money to pop a new processor into their computer?
