Thanks for capping. Not a lot of that happens around here these days. Probably down to the **** the production companies are churning out. These are nice though. Surprised they're this early and that the music isn't festive. If only other TV stations spent this much time over their pres.
I expected them to be on this early, for the simple reason that Disney Channel has always introduced their xmas graphics on December 1st. It's a shame they haven't added a festive touch to the music, but the graphics really do put others to shame. It's nuts that abc1 is a lot smaller than other channels (such as ITV1) yet they put a lot more effort into their graphics, one of the reasons why abc1 was the only channel with Halloween graphics back at the end of October.
Yes, it's the full version of the ident music which is only used on the extended ident that's normally used overnight (and now for the christmas graphics, doesn't seem like they've made shorter versions).
An utterly fab package, this is exactly how ITV1 should look, or at least should have looked when they had the squares. It just proves that well executed presentation can make a channel stand out even when it's schedule is 95% repeats. The sooner they go 24h on Freeview the better! I suspect they're still waiting for this before they introduce more new programmes and new commissions (they claimed they would do this a few years after launch).
I think abc1's major problem is the rights to many abc shows belong to other networks. In an ideal world, abc would give all the rights to abc1. I understand they can make more money by selling off the rights, but then if they automatically give them all to abc1, it would make abc1 a very profitable station in terms of ad revenue, which should mean abc get the same amount of money back if not more.
