With the Eurovision Song Contest fast approaching, it was reported in newspapers today (21/4/04) that after the decline of offers from the four ABBA members, agreement was reached to create Muppets of the group with the original voices being used.

This tribute is to commemorate thirty years since Abba won Eurovision in 1974. The tribute will air in the first ever semi final to be shown on BBC3 on Wednesday May 12th. (Why it couldn't be on BBC1 is beyond me as they are always showing crap on Wednesdays).

The song contest proper is on BBC1 at 8pm on BBC1 on May 15th. Does anyone know if the BBC still partially devises the graphics for the scores in the Eurovision?

One final point, If Don King was used to promote the FA Cup rounds, I wonder who will feature in the imminent Eurovision trailers.

No - I think the BBC Resources scoreboard was only used for a couple of years, after it debuted at Birmingham in 1998. I think a Viz system has been used for the past couple of contests?

When you say Muppets, do you mean Muppets, or just puppets?

Sorry, I meant puppets that look and perform as muppets. Hope this clears things up!
