What ruins Millionaire is the constant specials. Just one episode into the series and there is already a Celebrity / 5th birthday special next week. Celeb specials should just be saved for Christmas.

Once a week is fine, but I think the series is too long, beginning in August and running through to May. November to April would be better, or splitting it into an Autumn and Spring series.

Millionaire has lost it's sparkle really. The thing is, if anyone ever wins the million it always get's leaked to the press in advance, thefore taking the element of surprise out of every show.

Precisely! I used to be hooked when it was on for nightly bouts lasting no longer than a fortnight at a time. It then went into overkill, on virtually every night and I soon became tired of it. I don't know what it's future is, but rather than tweaking the format, tweaking by ITV of its schedualing I think will play the greater determining factor.

I don't think it works any more in a pre-recorded format, because as someone else just said if anyone does win a big prize it gets leaked to the press before transmission. If it's pre-recorded just a few hours before, or even transmitted live, the press won't have the opportunity to reveal that someone has won until after transmission.

Was it interactive on DSat last night? It didn't seem to be on Freeview.

I think it's time they refreshed their look - the same titles, studio and graphics for five years is a bit much. Not expecting a radical change, but I do think they're on screen presentation now looks very dated.

The mistake really was two years ago when it was on three times a week every week. The current once a week format is ok really and is not really much more than many shows expect. If they hadn't done the over the top scheduling two years ago it'd probably have more sparkle

They shouldn't leak the winners to the press, though someone getting to £500,000 which isn't leaked is still quite impressive

I prefer The Weakest Link over Millionaire, even though you can't win as much money.
