That would make sense to me, GMTV don't have a news bulletin after 8:30 (do they ?) so why not go to ITN at 9:25, then programming commences at 9:30. I would do this if I was ITV scheduler.

Good Idea, this could replace the one at 10.55 during This Morning.

When This Morning isn't on, (such as in a fortnight), the mid-morning News usually comes along at about 10.30 anyway.

I expect the only reason why Trisha lasts 65 minutes is because they were told to by the ITV Network Centre!

Trisha is on way too long, I lose interest after 5 minutes. I know I digress, but what will replace This Morning during the summer, is it more 3rd rate movies ? Also, with only 2 weeks to go on this morning, has an official announcement been made about Richard & Judy's replacement ?

Last year it was 'Trisha Gold' (i.e Repeats which unless they saw the last in the current series, wouldn't know any difference) and then a Film.

But with This Morning now running to 12.30pm instead of 12.15pm maybe there might be something extra

By the way, Police Camera Action fills the 2pm slot from next Monday

Anglia

9.20 GMTV still caption goes into a Trisha trailer followed by a This Morning Trailer followed by commercials. Lots and lots of commercials.
9.24 GMTV trailer followed by closing ident. Fades to black
9.25 Anglia ident. 'Welcome to Anglia. Up next it's Trisha followed at 10.30 by This Morning'. This is followed by a generic itv trailer and then straight into Trisha.
BBCPrime
whats the point of having separate regions on ITV if the vast majority of programming is networked (i.e. Trisha, This Morning, etc)

Meridian

9.24am - GMTV closing ident
9.25am - Meridian ident 'Good Morning and welcome to Monday's programmes on Meridian.....'

Then an ITV trailer

9.26am - Then straight into Trisha

Sometimes on Granada and Yorkshire you dont even get a `Good Morning and welcome to Granada/Yorkshire.

Over the past few weeks they haven't even played a full ident, just the static hearts ( you know what I mean!)

On UTV its all pre-recorded...

9:24 GMTV ident 'See you tommorow'
9:25 UTV long ident with pre-recorded announcement 'Good Morning, and Welcome to UTV'. (This is the last voice over UTV viewers will hear until prime time).
followed by one trailer
followed by Trisha.

Not that I'm usually at home at that time - if I am, I'm in bed...

Off topic a bit, but how do UTV tell viewers what's coming next etc during the day if they have no announcer?

On YTV/Tyne Tees nowadays they just put on a standard link into Trisha after the trailer, something like 'at 1.30 today we visit the Crossroads Hotel, but now let's meet Trisha and guests'. No good morning, nothing, just like the station isn't opening at all...

Simple answer: they don't! Most of the time anyway. Occasionally if there's a schedule change they'll tell us. 'Coming Next' boards of the type seen on Carlton simply don't exist on UTV, except when it takes generic ITV continuity overnight.

At prime time there is an announcer though, typically voicing over the end of programmes. (This has gotten harder since End Credit Promotions were introduced, UTV's announcer typically has to rush an announcement in before the sponsorship bumper/end board appears). UTV idents aren't really designed to be voiced over, they simply freeze if their end board is let run for more than 5 seconds.

Incidently we also go to the other extreme and have invision continuity at weekends! But thats a subject for another thread...
