9 years to get the simpsons

They do, Its a '4 year' lease. Another reason why alot of people have a lot of beef with Sky.

There are 21/22 new simpsons episodes each year and sky only ever shows about 18/19 of them. Thats been the contract for about 4 years now . So there are in effect 10 or so episodes that have never ever been broadcast in the UK.

There do get shown but at a later date!

But The Simpsons is made in the US for Sky's biggest shareholder, so they are obviously going to grant themselves a fairly extensive period of exclusivity on DSat here in the UK.

I agree that classic episodes have been few and far between in the last few seasons. I used to look forward to the new episodes on Sky One on Sunday evenings, but more often than not I am disappointed with them.

Has Lost, Prison break and 24 all lost Viewers?

I;'m sure Sky one has never got more that 3 millions viewers!

Of course they've lost viewers - but to the US producers it's no loss at all as not only are Sky paying more, but there's the inevitable knock-on effect on the sale of the DVD box sets.
