So Channel 4 is showing How To Look Good Naked right now, which I had presumed would not quite live up to its title given the time of day it's being shown.
*adopts shocked of Tunbridge Wells persona* Imagine my shock when I saw the biggest selection of t**s since parliament. A shedload of naked women (of vastly differing qualities).
Have I missed something, or is this not strictly 9pm and later only? Or is there the argument that it's a documentary (ha) or that people see the same things in The Sun anyway?
Well this morning there was a closeup of a guy with his c*ck out on This Morning - fair enough it was promoting awareness of testicular cancer, but even so, I'm sure we could imagine without the live pictures.
Anyway, my understanding was that the watershed was 9PM unless the channel is encrypted and gives prior notice of the content in which case it's 8PM (which is why Sky Movies can schedule films above PG rating in an 8PM slot).
The This Morning show could be argued on the basis that there are health issues at stake, and that it;s on at a time that the majority of kids are at school.
This is surely a tenuous excuse to show a lot of breasts on TV, at a time when a lot of youngsters will still be up. They could easily have kept themselves safely within the watershed by broadcasting it after 9pm.
Like I say, I haven't a major issue with it - I don't have any kids - but it does seem to be breaching the codes. Good luck Channel 4 duty office.

Nudity before the watershed must be justified by the context.
The rules surrounding nudity (at least in the free world, as in places outside the USA) are much more lenient, mainly because in itself it's not something that is widely deemed to be harmful to under 18s.
However, if said nudity was
intended
to cause offence, harassment, distress etc then that would be a breach of the Code.

There's been shows about nudist colonies before 8pm, and some music videos which feature exposed breasts (like George Michael's 'Fastlove') are shown 24/7 on the music channels. So yeah, I guess depending on the context.
I can't help thinking that as the years go on it's going to become more commonplace, though. There'll be sex and violence in kids shows eventually. Probably.
The programme is called "How to look good naked" so anyone complaining about it being on before the 8pm watershead either is rather fridgid or niave.
Plus would you let your kids watch something called that anyway, parents afterall should have overall control of the remote control over 8 year olds anyway (although some spoilt brats don't anyway)
Anyway there was hardly anything pornographic about it anyway
