Hi guys!

I feel this programme deserves a thread of it's own. The second series began yesterday on abc1. I found both Goodbye part 1 & 2 very moving. I can only imagine what it felt like for the cast at the time as he did actually die after taking a heart attack on set.

Anyways that aside, this is my fave abc1 program and I don't mind watching the Series 1 eps over and over because chances are there are still plenty I haven't seen since the series one eps didn't really have a fixed timeslot they just seemed to be on whenever, changing week to week.

Thoughts anyone?

Cheers,

No, it truely doesn't.

And why do you say that?

Look, you have an ABC1 thread, you seem to doing fairly well in there and we already have a stupid amount of pointless threads like this.

My gf is hooked on abc1 and I can honestly say it's the most pointless and inane use of airspace imaginable.

Programmes, such that they are - would-be upwardly-mobile middle-class Americans trying to do stuff, being stupid and coming unstuck, pulling facial expressions out of the F-R-I-E-N-D-S bumper bag of gurns, smirks and 'hah's, in limitless permutations - very often I can't tell which programme is which.

What doesn't help are the constant interruptions for 'ad breaks' - and there aren't even any ads. abc1 could justify them if they were getting revenue from breaking every 5 minutes, but they're just promos - promos for programmes that are even on right now or next - and many of those cut off early for an ident and 'now' announcement - when actually it's Part 4 of what you were just watching coming up.

The programmes are a joke, and so is the presentation.
I take it abc1 isn't the target demographic.
Perhaps it should be renamed "The Goldfish Channel"?

They are showing ads now. I think it's two breaks for every half hour and it's at the beginning and end of a programme, like America without any break between shows.

I myself think ABC 1's great and I love 8 Simple Rules.

8 Simple Rules is briliiant, and much better than Friends.

I've seen parts of it on odd occasions & didn't seem too bad.

Shame the actor who played the father died, he wasn't that old was he (in his 40's)

The actor was John Ritter. He died on 11th September 2003 six days before his 55th birthday (IMDB).
