I'll have a look to see if I've still got Monday's Guardian, but from what I remember LNN are looking for a new editor for London Tonight. As a rule a change of editor means a change of style and agenda, which would suggest that there may be changes coming the way of London Tonight quite soon.

I may be wrong, they may just be taking on a new editor for the programme, but I do enjoy reading deeply into these things and so my prediction is a new look for LNN in the New Year.

Could be totally wrong.

You're in luck, here it is...

Programme Editor - London Tonight

London News network is looking for a programme editor to take charge of its flagship news programme, the award-winning London Tonight.
The successful candidate will be an experienced television news editor (not Nigel Dacre then) who is able to demonstrate flair, imagination and enthusiam (certainly not Dacre...).
You must have a clear vision of the programme's future (future plans for changes to the programme?), and an understanding of what makes news in London.
Applications should be accompanied by a 500-word outline of your ideas for the programme (let's face it, no-one is going to write saying 'I want to keep the programme the same as it is').

Please send you CV to... blah blah blah.

[ENDS]

The fact that they're asking for the candidates to have ideas about the programme would suggest (to me, at least) that they want a new man/woman to come in and change the programme about a bit.
