6 o Clock News cock up in London

Just been a cock up at the start of the six o clock news on BBC1 in London.

The screen went blank for about two seconds. Then the normal BBC1 clock was shown, the same used on Sky Digital so no regional announcement, then when it came for the news headlines from LDN the screen went blank again for two seconds and then handed over to Gwennan Edwards doing the headlines for UK Today.

Anyone else see it?

Yes I saw this-when the screen went black I thought it was the NTL digibox playing up!

Then instead of David Braine with the weather in the middle of LDN, we just had Emily reading it out standing next to the plasma as usual!

Don't talk to me about the ntl digibox going to a black screen! ARGH!!

This programme was dreadful. Is it always as bad as this?

No, it's normally very good indeed

According to my contacts there were technical problems with the lines in and out of LDN hence no weather

It's the first time I've seen it amd it all looked so amatuerish, like some kind of student TV.

I'll give it three months before another makeover

I don't really think it's justified to call it 'amaterish' - from my eye it looks very modern and stylish. The equipment AFAIK is all the latest digital stuff - and with all new things they need a bit of running to iron out the creases!

I thought LDN was excellent last night! Emily's enthusiasm for being the weather lady was very sweet I thought and she did a very good weather forecast IMHO - very personal and informative. It's just a shame she can't do this every night! Much better than David Braine!

London Tonight may be in for a new look. A certain advertisement for a new job at LNN indicates that LT may see a number of changes.

New broom sweeps clean, and all that.
