Or split the UK up into 4 and make sure we all vote for each other?

I was thinking that perhaps we should try and make our country sound more like the others in order to fit in more. Maybe we should demand to be known as "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".

If not only to see how they'd fit our name on the scoreboard...

Paddy O'Connell's on BBC Three with 'Eurovision: A Little Bit More' right now. Absolute chaos but quite amusing!

Javine did well, and at least we beat last years number of votes, by 2 points. Very Happy

Huh? We got 29 points last year, 18 this year.

Still, well done Greece. Not the best song in the contest, but certainly not the worst either. That 'Big Four' thing was incredibly bizarre, though...

I'd love to see France, Spain, Germany and us to pull out of the whole competition. Then see how they manage to afford to put the show together Laughing

I get the feeling it's because most of us Brits hate Europe - they refuse to vote for us. Javine deserved a hell of a lot more votes than she got.

I think the feeling is the same in Europe..they hate us.

I say it every year,

It's time for the UK to dissassociate itself with Eurovision.

It is a complete joke.

And to call it a "song" contest is quite frankly insulting.

To whom exactly? and are you a complete ****? If we pulled out of Eurovision due to sour grapes, what would THAT do for our standing in Europe?

I always wonder how Liquid News' Christopher Price would have done his Eurovision programme. Sadly, we never found out as he died a few weeks before the Eurovision of 2002. But he really hammed up how much he was going to enjoy it.

It's insulting to the performers. It's common knowledge that the voting for the "song" contest, is not actually based on the song itself.

Greece could have read out the telephone directory for their entry and still have gotten a 12 from Cyprus.

Mr D'Arcy
There is a lot of talk of the big five pulling rank after tonight. Greece and Malta of course got the votes they deserved but this given points to neighbours business really has undermined the contest and I can see big changes again before the next one.

PS: Anyone notice BBC1 cutting out of the credits early?

Well, that's the last time I use The Sun as a source of information. Confused

I don't think it's a matter of sour grapes at all - it's all this political nonsense that is ruining the whole spirit of the competition.

And Italy is still a part of Europe, they don't seem to have any problems!

Seems more than a coincidence when France and UK are in the bottom 3 - just when both countries are (probably) going to vote no to the EU Constitution.

Are you saying the granny-loving Moldova entrant was better than Javine? I don't think so...
