I don't think so - I think doing it this way is much better.
The same fixed order every year would get tedious, Andorra always giving the first votes and Ukraine finishing off would be so boring "Oh look, Spain's winning after the first votes... again." and the Ukraine seeming as if they have no part in the voting process if the final results are spread apart. (They wouldn't, but it would look that way). This way is much better and fairer - by the way we're giving our votes 17th!
Apart from plowing money into the EBU, is the BBC playing any technical role in this year's contest? I remember they've previously provided the scoreboard software and provided equipment etc. but what, if anything are they doing this year?
All I can say is there was some weird voting in Europe tonight!
What about Belarus, Iceland, Estonia and Lithuania?
I voted for Iceland. But if you think Paddy was going on about loads of people voting in Britain. It's being shown on BBC3 to under a million. Hardly going to generate a lot of votes.
Will there be any way to find out the points of the non-qualifiers? They didn't show them like last year. (I think the best performance was the Netherlands - they'll be disappointed!)

That voice was very Witney Housten, I think she was the best singer.
Excellent coverage so far of the Semi Final - Are SVT doing it again this year? and it's in 16:9 too.
Yes. Sven was credited as the 'multi-camera director' in the credits at the end of the show, and all the camera crew had 'Swedish sounding' names to them.
I noted though that they were labeled under the name 'Premia tv'.
Have SVT spun off there OB department into a separate company?

They didn't reveal the points and scores until after the Grand Final, on the official website http://www.eurovision.tv/ , so no doubt the same will happen this year.
I'm glad most of the bizarre entries have gone through to the final, like Paddy I can't wait to hear what Wogan has to say about the Moldova and Norway entries!
Sorry, but last year the points from the non-qualifiers (11-22) were shown straight after the top 10 were announced. It was not until after the final that they put all the points up.
On another note, five brilliant songs got through (Hungary, Switzerland, Norway, Romania, Israel) and the rest were not bad but there were much better choices out there!
The presenters this year have been quite good!
