Today marks 50 Years since London Weekend Television first went on air on 2nd August 1968, in a week that's also seen the 50th anniversaries of Yorkshire Television and Thames Television.

It seems rather poignant and sad that this anniversary comes just a few months after the closure of LWT's iconic studios, and really is the end of an era.

Close, it was actually owned by the Coal Board Pension Scheme - Cin Properties - Coal Industry Nominees. Cin was itself renamed some years ago.

Hutchison were the book publishers, I don't think they moved in but I am happy to be corrected.
