50th Anniversary of London Weekend Television

Today marks 50 Years since London Weekend Television first went on air on 2nd August 1968, in a week that's also seen the 50th anniversaries of Yorkshire Television and Thames Television.

It seems rather poignant and sad that this anniversary comes just a few months after the closure of LWT's iconic studios, and really is the end of an era.

The Coal broad owned the building for most of it's life. Did the publishing company lwt brought ever move into the tower at some point.

Close, it was actually owned by the Coal Board Pension Scheme - Cin Properties - Coal Industry Nominees. Cin was itself renamed some years ago.

Hutchison were the book publishers, I don't think they moved in but I am happy to be corrected.
